Treason Season 1 Episode No 2 Recap
Their guesses about Adam are correct and they feel that he has compromised. Mads angrily rejects Dada's plea for help, but is torn between making a decision. The minister meets with Adam and asks him to step aside considering his emotional attachment. He feels that the kidnappers might use Ella to get something they want. But Adam says he will stay put. Russian philanthropist-turned-businessman Anton Melnikov is funding Robert Kirby's campaign for prime minister. Kara used to work on Melnikov's security detail. He needs money, a car and utilities. When Melnikov refuses, she responds angrily.
He says Adam will give him everything if he can get Ella. Melnikov tells him that Kirby's rival Audrey (the minister) has done something sinful in the past. Only MI6 will know what actually happened. An exchange is established between the two. Mads meets Dada and asks for his help. She reluctantly says yes, and Mads hands her the tape. She finds pictures of Adam and Kara in her belongings. Kara says that Ella's kidnapper has ID. But he said they should meet for the same. They go together in the car. The abductor receives instructions to transfer the girl. He runs a trucking company and a lucrative side business smuggling people in and out of the county.
Adam goes in alone to get Ella. Saying she's going to stand guard, Kara goes in through the back door instead. The police also get the address and send a team. He wants to take Ella in order to use Black Adam and get Melnikov's information. When Adam gets there, he doesn't find Ella and finds her driving with Kara. Grandpa encourages Madsy to think about herself and the kids and leave Adam, who is now a traitor. Kara makes a compromise: Ella for dirt on Audrey.
Adam goes to Martin's house and tries to find the file on Audrey. His wife Maryam is not ready to tell him where the documents are. But in the end he is brought to give them to him. He gets the information and sets up a meeting with Kara. She also sees his name in the office and finds a file with the CIA naming him as a person of interest. He tells the madmen that he will run off alone to get Ella, but Ella asks to come with him.
Mads clicks photos of Kara and Adam, who are secretly following him, exchanging files. Kara even kisses Adam on the cheek and says she'll get Ella off the ground safely. He soon meets Adam and Mads. Adam meets Kit, a close confidant, to ask him for advice. He recounts the entire episode to Kit and shows him his resignation letter. It is the first time that the word "treason to the motherland" appears in the program. Adam must now find and expose Kara in order to protect his family and gain immunity from prosecution.
Episode Review
It's almost always a defiant teenager or suspicious woman who gets these TV heroes into trouble. This may not be true in real life, but we are used to seeing it happen in all such situations where someone can gain leverage. Why couldn't Ella stay with the security detail? Why did he have to go on his own? It's natural for most teenagers, but he shouldn't get a free pass for it.
It was an easy way to advance the story since Kirby was introduced in this episode. When it comes to Sir Martin, Adam is really in a seam. He should be more concerned about himself because the old veteran has a file on almost everyone! Mads fell into Dada's trap. We all saw it coming, but it didn't make it.
Something tells us this could be a fatal mistake that irreparably damages the family. To be honest, for someone as smart as Mads, this decision didn't fit with what his character should be.
