Treason (Betrayal) Netflix New Web Series Season 1 Episode No 3 Recap And Review

Episode 3

Betrayal Belova, the local leader of the SVR, catches Kara at the start of episode 3 and warns her to stay away from Adam. Ella has PTSD from the kidnapping and hides it from her father. The man announces his resignation to the lunatics, saying that they "have things to talk about later." He doesn't want to leave his family. This is his attempt to make things right with the crazy and not keep her in the dark anymore.

Adam talks to Audrey and tells her about the evidence the opposition has against him. He flew in a government plane for palliative care for his mother. Audrey has a similar meeting with Sir Martin as Lord Nigel and wonders how this information was leaked. Melnikov pushes Kara to finish the job and send it to Audrey that same day. In return, he promises to spend more time with Belova. Adam learns more from Patrick about Kirby, Audrey's rival, and is surprised to discover that Kara is involved with Melnikov. He asks Zoe to set up a date with him. But Adam decides to keep Patrick in the dark about it, and he gets upset. Adam may have lost his last friend at that moment...

"Get out of the race or we're going public," Kara tells Audrey. At the meeting, Adam sends a veiled threat about Melnikova's blackmail plan, prompting Audrey to urge him to panic about Kara. The man asks her to stand still, but she is unsure. Mads takes the video from last night to Nanny. Mads defends Adam and says that he has resigned. Dada assures her that Adam will be kept out of their investigation and that they only want Kara. Mads doesn't know what to do. Melnikov meets with Kara and tells her that she cannot attract the attention of MI6. After Kirby becomes prime minister, Melnikov gifts him to the Kremlin and everything is forgiven for him. When Kara tells him she won't help him anymore, he threatens to turn her in.

Kara asks to meet Adam and Mads gets a package from Dede. He puts the Hamilton card Grandpa gave him in Adam's wallet. Mads calls in the middle of the night to say that Adam is meeting Kara. All Mads has to do is ID Kara and he'll be done. He meets the Black Man and the CIA places sound recorders near the scene. They record the whole conversation. Kara reveals that the CIA has taken Ella. Mads hears this in the van and loses it. Adam asks Kara to leave, but she is still adamant about what happened in Baku.

The Central Intelligence Agency notes that Adam gave the file on Audrey to the Russians. She and Adam broke up when Kara saw the agent moving towards her. Adam sees the gift card and talks to Dada. He turns the house upside down in search of more bugs. Kara trusts Adam after he doesn't turn him in to the CIA. He calls her over to Angelis' house and says they have to figure it out themselves. The man takes the children home and tells Maryam that he had a big fight with the madmen.

Angelis' return home coincides with Kara picking up the papers. It's risky, but he has to do it. Ella sees Kara and Adam together in the basement. But he agrees to help his father. Kara can't find the files and Angelis comes home. No matter how hard Adam tries, Angelis tells him that she always knows about his presence. The CIA came to him with suspicion, and he did some digging on Adam. She has made contact with Kara and thinks Adam is a double agent. Adam tries to tell Angelis that they will suffer if Kirby becomes Prime Minister.

But Angelis has her own agenda. He doesn't want to stop Kirby from winning because he wants MI6 to become a powerful organization again and take control of the country's politics. Adam senses that MI6 has an actual double agent, but Angelis will brush him off as a Russian asset.

  Episode Review

Martin Angelis is a super villain hiding in plain sight. His agenda was the highlight of the episode. But more bulk would have helped. The writing was pretty weak and ignorant to exploit that moment, as it was a big reveal in the scheme of the show. He's a bad influence on literally everyone, and he's not about to let all that intelligence go to waste.

He is not a guardian angel as we have previously thought otherwise. But that seems to be the problem with Betrayal. The moment is right there for grabs, but ignorance at the wrong time keeps this show from being special. There's a lot going on with the three intelligence agencies converging, but they haven't yet collided at the same time. The show is crying out to be saved here.
