Emily in Paris Season 3
Episode No 6 Recap And Review
Agence Grateau's venue for the McLaren event is canceled at the last minute, leaving them with no place to host their luxury car show. This leaves Agence Grateau in a difficult position. As Sylvie almost boils her blood during the discussion, Emily, texting Alfie, gets the perfect response from her boyfriend at the perfect time. Alfie's employer, Antoine, owns a chateau in Provence that seems ideal for the occasion. Sylvie quickly accepts the remedy because her problem is solved.
Gabriel joins Emily and Alfie at the special event as he has been chosen to serve food at the gathering. That evening, while Emily, Alfie, and Camille are talking over dinner, Camille reveals that she is staying behind to spend some time and work with Sofia.
The next day, Emily, Alfie and Gabriel take the train to Provence to visit Chateau Antoine. Alfie spontaneously supports Gabriel's suggestion to visit a Michelin-starred restaurant while on the train, as he's been dying to do, but Emily isn't on the same page as she has a lot of work to complete.
When Antoine openly reveals that he has had sex with Sylvie before, Sylvie finds it difficult to deal with her lover's jealousy. He convinces Sylvie to admit that she is having an affair with Antoine, which causes some concern. However, when he reassures her about her feelings for him, he eases her anxiety.
Emily and Alfie gather with Gabriel, but as the three prepare to go to dinner, Alfie is beaten by Antoine to deal with a problem at the perfume factory, forcing Emily inside. when they arrive at the restaurant they close the time and when the dinner is over the server compliments them on being a nice couple.
Alfie listens to Antoine moan and fume about the fragrance being 'not good' and so he can't turn it on while enjoying a romantic meal with his partner Gabriel. Antoine smells a lot of bad things, but not much more than the perfume he wants to market.
After they finish their meal, Gabriel continues to ask the chef for guidance on how to balance his career and family life, and the chef hypothesizes Emily and Gabriel as a couple. After a few minutes, a note about "lovely couple" also appears on the check.
In Paris, Camille is seen discussing their future with Sofia while relaxing at a hotel. Camille offers to extend her show so Sofia can stay longer, and Sofia encourages Camille to go on a trip to Greece. Sofia explains that they weren't meant to love just one person when Camille has a brief moment of realism and raises Gabriel.
Laurent shows up unexpectedly at the McLaren meeting, and Sylvie, who has been watching Eric's filming, immediately runs into Emily, who is watching the attendees. When Sylvie takes control of the guest list to hide her lover from her husband, Emily is whisked away to speak with the McLaren boss.
As Emily and the manager talk about her latest high-end car, she accidentally fails to find the right solution.
Eric sees Laurent walk in, which causes trouble for Sylvie as her invite list strategy doesn't work. Eric comes close to breaking them up as Sylvie tries to let him know she's not on the list, but things get so intense that Laurent quickly runs off to get some champagne. Eric also leaves immediately after Sylvie fails to answer her question about why she is still married to Laurent.
Emily interrupts Alfie and Antoine's argument about a botched perfume batch and advises them to turn the scent into a limited edition product. As Emilie explains the basics of supply and demand, Antoine is impolite, mocking her and walking away. However, later that evening at the party, she offers her opinion while toasting the launch of a limited-edition lavender fragrance.
After dinner, Sylvie smokes longingly in the shade, Laurent approaches her and covers her with a coat. After she reports that Eric is gone, she asks him to accompany her on a walk to the lavender fields. They then talk about their marital relationship, he expresses that he wants to divorce her only if he will ensure her happiness, and he promises Sylvie that he will always be there for her. They go in to kiss, but just as they're about to get intimate, a swarm of bees stops them. They strip off and dive into the pool together to escape.
Emily and Alfie also return and Catherine praises her for arguing with Antoine. Antoine then comes to say goodbye and appreciates Emily for her incredible idea. To celebrate a very successful event, Alfie takes Emily back in a luxury car rented to him by Antoine. After Alfie demands the bill for Gabriel's meal so he can pay him back, Emily lies to him and keeps him around because she has a message saying that she and Gabriel are a couple.
Episode Review
Again, without letting any tension build up, the main character instantly solves the issue in this episode. Also, when Emily and Gabriel visit a Michelin Star restaurant, this segment of the show is very childish. We see how the chef initially believes they're a couple, and then at the end of the meal they get a note saying they make a cute couple, which is so sweet.
Any relationship or connection in the show doesn't seem believable because the characters never follow through on their words, especially in this episode. For example, Mindy and Benoit seemed like a good match, but it only took one argument.
Sylvie is another character with weak relationships. In the same episode, Sylvie had an intimate moment with her husband Laurent after telling Eric that he was the only man in her life.
