The Glory Season 1 Episode 6 Recap
Episode 6 of "Glory" opens with Yeo-jung's lunchtime meeting with her mother. He tells his mother that he has finally decided what he wants to do. He wants to own his experience and gives her his resignation letter. He wants to open his practice in Semyeong. He assures his mother that the girl he loves lives there.
Yeon-jin visits a shaman with her mother and prays for a solution to Dong-eun's problem. Her mother thinks she's incompetent and wants to call someone at the Ministry of Education to fire Dong-eun.
Yeon-jin stops him and says that she's afraid that being fired will provoke Dong-eun. He fears that Dong-eu will start talking and that Ha Ye Sol will find out what a monster he is. His mother advises him to stop looking for solutions in the past and look for them in the present.
Elsewhere, Dong-eun receives an urgent message from Hyun-nam, asking him to call her soon. They meet at the usual places, and Hyun-nam expresses her concern that she won't be able to find Myeong Oh. He last saw her going to a travel agency and fears she might switch sides.
Dong-eun tells him that there's also the possibility that he'll die, and that wouldn't be in their best interest. Hyun-nam asks Dong-eun if he is the one who killed her. He wants to know so he can prepare to protect Dong-eun. Dong-eun draws the line and tells him that even if he kills Myeong Oh, he doesn't need to know. Dong-eun warns him that they’re getting too close and reminds them to just stick to their contract.
Jae-joon came home after a few days, where did he sleep? She sees Myeong Oh stealing all her fancy clothes and watches. He immediately tries to call her but Myeong Oh doesn't answer, the dead don't pick up the phone you know!
Yeon-jin meets with the police chief and asks if he can find someone's personal information. He says he hasn't found anything yet and it's not an easy task. As they discuss their plans, Yeon-jin gets a call from Jae-joon, but he refuses to pick up the phone.
Across town, Dong-eun enlists Gu Seong-hee's help to find out if Myeong Oh has left the country as planned. Gu Seong-hee checks and learns that Myeong-oh never left the country. Myeong Oh's disappearance makes Dong-eun question what course of action she should take. He decides to target Do-young and make him a butterfly that will flap its wings for him.
Unaware that he will soon become part of Dong-eu's plan, Do-young ends up on a rooftop project to create a large-scale Go board game.
Meanwhile, Sa Ra struggles to get her medicine from Myeong Oh, who is still not responding to any of her messages. Hye-jeong also seeks out Myeong Oh after receiving a letter from him, threatening to expose her secrets. She's about to marry a chaebol and wants to make sure he doesn't ruin her.
As Dong-eun goes about his day, Hyun-nam calls to inform him that there is a car following him. Dong-eun is surprised that Hyun-nam is after her, but she says that she will work to lose the men who are after her. She manages to get into a minor accident with the men in the car and they agree to pay the damage in cash. The driver asks for Dong-eu’s phone number and tells him to meet him with cash when he calls.
After the little incident, Dong-eun meets up with Hyun-nam, who explains that he was watching Jae-joo at school when he saw Dong-eun being followed. Dong-eun is embarrassed because she thinks she can't trust Hyun-nam. He apologizes and reconciles.
Jae-joon asks Hye-jeong if she knows Ha Ye Sol's date of birth. She says she believes he is her biological father. Hye-jeong thinks he's crazy and has gone too far, and tells him that Yeon-jin isn't the only one he's slept with. She tells him that maybe it's because she and Myeong Oh are together that they're not answering their phones.
He decides to visit Jae-joo at the golf club to ask where he can find Myeong Oh. Jae-joon asks her if she received a letter from Myeong Oh threatening her.
He tells Do-young that he, too, is looking for Myeong Oh, and they exchange contact cards, promising to let each other know if one of them finds Myeong Oh. During the conversation, Do-young notices that the brand of cigarettes Jae-joo smokes is the same as his wife's. After their interaction, Jae-joon leaves Myeong Oh a message on his phone, promising to kill Ha Ye Sol if her true identity is the reason for his threats.
He later gets the DNA test results back and learns that Ha Ye Sol is his biological daughter.
He texts Dong-eun, saying that they never finished the Go match properly. At the time, Dong-eun was at the mechanic shop fixing his car. He sees people cooking pork in a pan, and the sound of the meat being fried reminds him that it is being burned. He starts having anxiety attacks.
He decides to visit Yeo-jung and tells her about his revenge plans. Yeo-jung is initially worried about how the revenge will affect her. When Dong-eun undresses in front of him, he changes his mind and sees all her scars. He joins the hunt and promises to help him by becoming his executioner.
Episode Review
The threatening letters that the gang of bullies receive add drama to this episode. It looks like Do-young is slowly starting to piece together the truth on her own, and I'm excited to see when she will face Jae-joon and Yeon-jin. Based on his personality, he will make extremely calculated actions.
How will Jae-joon face Yeon-jin? Let's hope we see it in the next episode.
