The Glory Season 1 Episode 8 Recap
"Glory" episode 8 starts with Hye-jeong asking Dong-eun to talk. He tries to plead and compromise in exchange for Dong-eun not interfering with their upcoming nuptials. Dong-eun returns the phone to him and says that he learned a lot about her by using it.
Hye-Jong realizes that it was Dong-eun who sent her the pictures. Dong-eun tells him to think long and hard about how he can save himself. He also orders her to report Myeong Oh missing.
Do-young notices Jae-joo looking at Ha Ye Sol and they get into a confrontation. Do-young asks Jae-joon what he plans to do. He says he doesn't want to find Myeong Oh anymore because he found out why he sent the letter. Do-young may have just realized that Ha Ye Sol is not his biological father.
Dong-eun meets Jae-joon at the school building and reminds him of how he and Myeong Oh sexually assaulted her earlier in the day. He asks her if she is planning to take revenge. She said she couldn't stop his plans and tried to provoke him and he punched her. He is warned by Ha Ye Sol to stay away, and he warns Yeon-jin not to help.
He tells her that if he wants to protect Ha Ye Sol, he should count her as his ally. He reveals to her that he was the one who sent Ha Ye Sol's toothbrush. She gives him Ha Ye Sol's color, proving he inherited his color blindness and leaves.
At home, Ha Ye Sol tells her mother about the father incident at school, and Yeon-jin is scared. She is shocked to learn that Jae-joon has also shown up.
Meanwhile, Do-young secretly meets with Hye-jeong and asks her about the relationship between Yeon-jin and Dong-eun. Hye-jeong tells her that Yeon-jin brutally bullied Dong-eun when she was in high school. He says it’s so bad that Dong-eun dropped out of school. He asks her to ask his wife about Dong-eun and the other people he insulted.
He asks Do-young to tell Dong-eun that he was the one who told him what happened. Do-young begins to understand what Dong-eun means when he says he's betting his life on something.
Later, Do-young accidentally meets Yeo-jung at a new Go match he set up. They play games together and Yeo-jung tries to gauge what kind of person Do-young is. Yeo-jung tells him that she recently moved to the city hoping to get revenge on someone. He also tells her that he is a surgeon and gives her his contact card. Later, she tells Dong-eun about her meeting with Do-young.
Do-young looked so collected and so cool. He also tells her that Do-young will call only after he takes control of the situation. After he had rehearsed in his head the questions he wanted to ask.
Do-young goes home and finds Yeon-jin waiting for him. Yeon-jin says that she and Dong-eun come from different worlds, and since they talked about their misunderstandings, it’s okay. She asks what Dong-eun told her, but he says he didn’t talk to her.
He asks her how she resolved her disagreement with Dong-eun. He asks her not to listen to others and to trust him. She should know they've been together for 12 years and she's going to fix it. He warns her not to open Pandora's box and that she will make sure her daughters are safe and the box stays closed.
The next day, she meets Jae-joon and asks him if he loves Do-young. She admits that she loves Do-young and is not ready for a divorce. Jae-joon reminds her that he is always there for her. He says that he might not accept Do-Young once he learns the truth about who he really is.
Later, police chief Shin Yeong-jun calls her and asks her to meet the next day. Yeong-jun tells him that Dong-eun is a model citizen, based on his personal research on him. Yeon-jin asks about Dong-eun's mother, hoping to use her against Dong-eun. It seems that the police chief has people following Dong-eu's mother.
Yeon-jin isn't the only one interested in Dong-eu's mother. Yeo-jung is also interested, but Dong-eun doesn't go into details. However, he wants to learn about the reason behind Yeo-jung's password. The scene is about the mother visiting the murderer in prison and warning her not to send any more letters mocking her son.
Hye-jeong finally reports that Myeong-Oh is missing, and the gang freaks out. Sa Ra is furious that Hye-Jeong may have put her drug use on the police radar. He vows to kill Hye-jeong if the cops start snooping around her.
Elsewhere, Dong-eun tells Hyun-nam to get her daughter a passport when she executes her father. He tells Hyun-nam he’ll lose his child if they go through with the plan, and asks if he wants to stop.
Dong-eun then calls Do-young to ask to meet up. They meet and he says he wants to hear her side of the story first. Dong-eun says that he approached her on purpose.
On the other hand, Yeon-jin discovers that Dong-eun lives in an apartment across from her house.
How Does Glory Season 1: Part 1 End?
Do-young joins Yeon-jin as she wonders how Dong-eu slipped while looking at photos in her apartment.
Yeo-jung visits the morgue to look at the body, and Dong-eun visits his house and makes the first move on the Go board, as he requested.
Episode Review
Considering this is only part 1, we still have a lot of questions we want answered. How did Dong-eun know Yeon-jin broke into his house? Whose side will Do-young take? Whose body did Yeo-jung go to see at the morgue, So Hee or Myeong-Oh? Does Hyun-nam still choose to order hits for her husband?
